Pi Kappa Phi is the only fraternity to own and operate its own philanthropy organization: The Ability Experience (formally Push America).

The Ability Experience’s mission is, “We use shared experiences to support people with disabilities and develop the men of Pi Kappa Phi into servant leaders.” which has been fulfilled for more than 35 years. Although the wording may have been changed, The Ability Experience’s vision to “Create a community, one relationship at a time, where the abilities of all people are recognized and valued,” remains unchanged.

The Theta Lambda chapter here at Missouri State University has a brother, Francis Ahrens, who has participated in the Journey of Hope. Journey of Hope is the biggest philanthropy event that The Ability Experience holds during the summer. It’s a cycling event across the country that ends in Washington D.C. Our brother Francis Ahrens participated in this event as a crew member during the summer of 2014 and will be participating again this summer as a cyclist riding the Transamerica route.
